Tauriana, also called Taureana, is the ancient site north of modern Palmi. It is not a polished archaeological park on the scale of southern Italy's famous Greek ruins, but it adds historical depth to a coast better known for views and beaches.
Come with modest expectations and curiosity. The value is in understanding that Palmi's coast was part of a much older network of settlements, roads, and sea routes, not just a modern summer strip.
