Sant'Agnello is the small comune between Meta di Sorrento and Sorrento proper, running along the clifftop above the Gulf of Naples. It has none of Sorrento's tourist apparatus — no ticket booths, no cruise crowds — and the clifftop walk through its residential streets gives some of the best views on the peninsula, looking back toward Meta and the bay.
The village centre is genuinely quiet: a piazza, a church, some local bars, and the kind of unhurried atmosphere that Sorrento lost some decades ago. Several of the peninsula's better-value guesthouses and agriturismos are in Sant'Agnello rather than Sorrento itself. Worth a detour on the walk between Meta and Sorrento.
