Pompeii's most famous brothel, located near the Forum on a narrow side street. The small building has ten stone-bed rooms on two floors, each with explicit painted panels above the doorway that served as a menu of services. The name comes from lupa (she-wolf), Roman slang for a prostitute. It is one of the most visited spots on the site and can get crowded midday — try to come early or late.
