The most central of the seafront cafés, on the corner of Piazza I Maggio and Via Bovio. Caffè Centrale is open from breakfast until about midnight, doing reasonable espresso, a long aperitivo hour with free buffet plates, and a respectable Aperol spritz.
The terrace is heavily shaded in the afternoons and has a clear view across the piazza to the Tonino Guerra fountain. It is one of the few cafés in town that stays open year-round.
