Terme di Riccione

The Terme di Riccione is a thermal spa complex fed by natural brine springs, offering a range of treatments from medical-style respiratory and dermatological therapies to straightforward wellness and relaxation packages. The water, naturally warm and mineral-rich, fills multiple indoor and outdoor pools at varying temperatures.

The spa has a dual character: it still runs the traditional medical treatments that have been offered since the 1930s, including inhalation therapies and mud wraps, alongside the more contemporary wellness spa experience of saunas, massage, and hydrotherapy pools. It operates year-round, which makes it a useful option for visiting Riccione outside the beach season. Day passes to the pools are the easiest way to experience it; treatment packages require advance booking.

A story
Riccione's thermal spring was discovered accidentally in 1936 during oil exploration drilling. The brine water that came up was warm, salty, and rich in bromine and iodine — exactly the composition used historically in treatments for respiratory and skin conditions. The thermal establishment that grew around it became one of the first in Italy to market itself as a health spa alongside the beach resort.
