Osteria al Moro is a traditional Friulian osteria on the corso, the kind of place that has been serving the same dishes for decades and has no intention of changing. The menu centres on local ingredients — San Daniele prosciutto, frico, cjalsons (sweet-and-savoury stuffed pasta from the Carnia mountains) — prepared without flourish but with consistency. The wine list covers Friuli's excellent white wines, particularly the aromatic varietals of the Collio and Isonzo zones.
It fills at lunchtime with office workers and regulars. Go for the fixed-price lunch menu for the best value. Dinner is quieter and more relaxed.
