Palazzo Antonini

Palazzo Antonini, just north of the historic centre, is one of the few Andrea Palladio buildings on the mainland north of Venice — and the only one in Friuli. The Antonini family commissioned the design in 1556; the central courtyard and the symmetrical façade with its giant order of half-columns are unmistakably Palladian, even though later owners modified the building.

The palace was for many years the seat of the Banca d'Italia in Udine and is currently used for cultural events. The interior is rarely open; the façade and courtyard are visible from the street.
