Cenesi

A quiet side-valley hamlet of Cisano, with terraced olive groves.

Cenesi sits in a small lateral valley about 2 km southwest of Cisano centre, reached by a single road that climbs gently up among the olive trees. The hamlet itself is no more than a cluster of stone houses around a small church.

It is a good destination for a slow morning walk from Cisano: the valley is shaded, the views across to the Apennines open up at every turn, and a couple of farmhouses sell Taggiasca olives and pressed oil direct. The wider commune produces olives, peaches, vegetables and Pigato wine grapes.
