Pietra Ligure has a broad sandy beach that stretches along most of the town's seafront — unusually generous for this stretch of Liguria. In July and August it is packed with Italian families, the sand divided between equipped lidos and a narrower free section. Outside the peak season it is largely empty and much more pleasant for a walk.
