Mag Cafè anchors one stretch of the Naviglio Grande towpath with a bohemian, slightly theatrical interior — wine barrels stencilled with paintings, warm low lighting, small marble-topped tables — that spills out onto the canal in summer. It's run by the Farmily Group, the team behind several of Milan's best-regarded cocktail bars, and the drinks list changes regularly while keeping a consistent emphasis on quality spirits and proper technique.
Signature cocktails draw on Milan's own bar history: riffs on the Negroni, a Dolse Amaro that nods to Bar Basso, and a Naviglio in Galleria that pays tribute to the historic Camparino. Drinks come with small plates of cured meats, cheeses, and crackers. It opens early enough for coffee and stays open past midnight, making it equally good for a daytime break or a late aperitivo on the water.
