Getting There

By train: Isernia has a station on the Vairano–Campobasso–Isernia line, connecting to the main Naples–Rome axis at Vairano-Caianello. The journey from Naples takes approximately 2.5–3 hours with a change. Direct connections to major cities are limited; most travellers connect through Naples or Caserta.

By car: The A1 motorway (Autostrada del Sole) passes east of Isernia; exit at Caianello and follow the SS85 westward. From Naples the drive takes about 90 minutes. From Rome, approximately 2.5 hours. Parking in the historic centre is limited; use the car parks below the ridge.
