Palazzo Mazzetti is Asti’s main civic museum, housed in an elegant noble palace rather than a purpose-built gallery. The rooms are part of the attraction: staircases, salons, and decoration give context to the paintings and local collections.
It is a useful counterpoint to the brick medieval city outside. After towers and churches, the palace shows Asti’s later aristocratic face, when status was expressed through interiors, collections, and polished urban living.
