The personal art collection of Gianni and Marella Agnelli, set in a Renzo Piano-designed glass box ("the casket") perched at one end of the rooftop test track at the Lingotto. The display is small — about twenty-five paintings — but the names on the wall are extraordinary: Matisse, Modigliani, Manet, Picasso, Tiepolo, Canaletto.
The architecture is part of the visit. The casket cantilevers out over the side of the factory, with views down to the production floor below and across to the Alps. The same ticket gives you onto the test track itself, which is reason enough on its own.
