Eating Out

Turin is one of Italy's great food cities. This is where chocolate-making began in Italy, authorized by royal decree in 1678, and the gianduiotto -- that iconic cocoa-hazelnut confection -- was born here. Beyond the sweets, the Piedmontese kitchen runs deep: white truffles from Alba, bagna cauda, vitello tonnato, agnolotti del plin, and wines from Barolo to Barbera. Even a casual meal in Turin tends to be excellent.
