One of the best-known restaurants in Alberobello, Trullo d'Oro has been feeding visitors in a converted trullo for decades. The Pugliese menu covers all the expected ground — fresh pasta, grilled fish and meat, local cheeses and charcuterie — and does so with consistency that explains its longevity.
It is popular and can feel a little stage-managed at peak times, but the cooking is solid and the setting, with several trulli interconnected into a single dining space, is genuinely impressive. Go for lunch rather than dinner to avoid the worst of the summer crowds.
