Locorotondo is on the local railway between Bari, Putignano, Martina Franca, and Taranto, useful but not especially fast. Trains make it possible to visit without a car if you plan around the timetable.
By road, the town sits between Alberobello and Martina Franca. A car or bike gives you much more freedom in the surrounding countryside, where trulli, masserie, and vineyard lanes are scattered rather than concentrated.
