The Villa Comunale is the old town’s best balcony over the Valle d'Itria. From the gardens, the countryside opens below in a patchwork of vineyards, olive trees, dry-stone walls, and conical trulli scattered between the farms.
Come near sunset if you can. Locorotondo is photogenic from almost anywhere, but this is the place where the town’s hilltop position makes sense and the valley stops being an abstract postcard.
