Punta Beppe Tuccio Lighthouse

Active lighthouse on Linosa's northeastern tip, with wide views to Lampedusa

The lighthouse at Punta Beppe Tuccio stands on the northeastern tip of Linosa, where the island's lava shelf drops into open sea. It is an active navigation aid — white-painted, compact, and very much still working — but the real draw is the walk to reach it and the views from the headland.

The path runs across the northeastern slope of the island through low maquis scrub, with the sea on both sides and the volcanic profile of Monte Vulcano behind you. On a clear day the lighthouse headland has an unobstructed view north toward Sicily and east toward the open Mediterranean. Lampedusa is visible to the south on most days; Tunisia — some 160 km away — appears occasionally in exceptional visibility. It is a straightforward 40-minute walk from the village, best done in the evening when the light is low and the heat has dropped.
