Mazara del Vallo is 25 kilometres south of Trapani. The nearest airport is Vincenzo Florio Airport Trapani-Birgi, around 30 minutes by car. Direct connections from Palermo make it possible to combine Mazara with a wider trip through western Sicily; the drive from Palermo takes about 1 hour 45 minutes along the A29 motorway.
By train, Mazara is served from Palermo via Marsala, though the frequency is limited. Buses from Trapani and Marsala are more frequent and often faster. If you have a car, the town makes an excellent base for exploring the archaeological park at Selinunte (35km) and the salt pans of Marsala.
