The parish church of San Lorenzo is the visual heart of Folgaria, its onion-domed campanile rising above the rooftops in a style that speaks clearly of the town's Habsburg past. The current structure dates from the 18th century and was extended and redecorated in the early 20th century. The interior is modest but well-kept, with carved wooden elements and local stone.
The church square is the natural gathering point for the village, particularly in the evening when the alpine light turns the surrounding hillsides golden. The Austrian Baroque influences — rounded dome, painted plasterwork — are a reminder that this section of Trentino was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918 and has a distinctly different character from the Italian plains below.
