Passerini Palace began as the thirteenth-century Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo. Cardinal Silvio Passerini later owned the building and had the interior renewed in the early sixteenth century.
The palace is best treated as part of a walk through Cortona's historic centre. Its layered history is more interesting than a quick look at the facade suggests.
