Fiesole's main draw is its Etruscan and Roman past, concentrated in the archaeological zone beside the main piazza. The town itself is small enough to walk in an hour, but the views across to Florence, the quiet lanes below San Francesco, and the outlying villas and castles justify a half-day or more.
