Getting There

By air. Pisa International Airport (Galileo Galilei, code PSA) is the main budget airline hub for Tuscany, with year-round connections to most of Europe on Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air, and full-service carriers from major hubs. The PisaMover automated shuttle links the terminal to Pisa Centrale station in five minutes (€5).

By train. Pisa Centrale is on the main Genoa–Rome line and the dedicated Florence line, with hourly direct services from Florence (60 minutes, €8.70), Lucca (30 minutes), Livorno (20 minutes), and a handful of fast trains daily from Rome (3 hours), Milan, and Genoa. From the station the centre is a 15-minute walk; the Leaning Tower is 25 minutes on foot or three stops on bus LAM Rossa.

By car. The A11 motorway from Florence ends at Pisa, and the A12 north-south coastal motorway passes the city. Driving inside the historic centre is restricted by a ZTL zone enforced by camera; park at one of the perimeter lots (Pietrasantina lot near the Campo dei Miracoli has a free shuttle to the tower) and walk in.
