The southern open square of the old town, where the long arcaded corso opens out into a wider piazza. The Loggia Comunale (a sixteenth-century covered portico) and the small civic palazzi on the western side make it the most attractive piece of unified urban architecture in town after the Corso itself.
Saturday morning markets fill the square, and the cafes under the loggia are pleasant for a coffee. It is also the most logical place to begin a walk through Portogruaro: park nearby, take a coffee, then head north along the Corso and finish at the cathedral and the river.
