Peaio is the largest of Vodo's three frazioni, sitting on a side road north of the main village. It preserves much of the original alpine architecture of the upper Cadore — tall stone-and-timber houses with deep balconies and shingle roofs, clustered around a small parish church.
The village is quiet, the views excellent (the Antelao group dominates the eastern sky) and the network of paths above the village leads quickly into the woods of the Antelao foothills. It is a useful base if you want to be slightly higher than Vodo proper.
