Lion House is one of Limbaži's stranger bits of early 20th-century architecture: a red-brick house decorated with lion figures, built for an Estonian entrepreneur who clearly did not want something ordinary. It stands out in a town whose pleasures are usually quieter and older.
You will not need long here, but it is worth a look while walking between the centre, the museum, and the castle ruins. The appeal is in the surprise of finding such a confident little oddity on an otherwise modest street.
