The Frank Zappa bust is one of Vilnius's stranger little monuments: a bronze tribute to an American musician who never visited Lithuania. Local fans raised the money for it in the 1990s, partly because Zappa's odd, anti-authoritarian image felt right for a city shaking off Soviet habits.
It is a quick detour rather than a major sight, but it says something charming about Vilnius's sense of humour. A replica was later sent to Baltimore, Zappa's childhood home.
