The National Museum of Military History is Diekirch's headline attraction. Its best-known displays cover the Battle of the Bulge with life-size dioramas, vehicles, uniforms, photographs, weapons, and civilian material from the surrounding region.
It is a serious museum rather than a collection of hardware for its own sake. Give it time, especially if you are trying to understand why northern Luxembourg's quiet valleys carry so many Second World War memorials.
