A small literary café-museum on Bucuresti Street, named for the dumpling-cheeked child hero of the much-loved 1967 Moldovan children's book Gugutsa by Spiridon Vangheli. The café opened in 2018 in a corner that once held a bookshop and is now part café, part bookshop, part shrine to Vangheli's stories — bound editions of every Gugutsa book, ceramic figurines, original illustrations on the walls.
Coffee, hot chocolate, and small pastries are the menu. It is a quiet, slightly twee retreat from the boulevards, and a useful stop with kids who have read the books. Closed Mondays.
