Stadionul Dinamo is the principal football ground of Bender, a compact stadium with a capacity of a few thousand spectators tucked into the central streets of the city. It is the home of FC Dinamo Bender, a club that plays in the Moldovan league system — one of the rare points at which the everyday life of Transnistria-administered Bender intersects with the institutions of the Republic of Moldova on the other side of the river.
Match days in the late afternoon are the time to come if you want a window into a side of the city most visitors miss. On non-match days the stadium is unremarkable from the outside but can be peered into through the gate; it is a five-minute walk from the central market.
