Bujović Palace & Town Museum

17th-century baroque palace now housing Perast's town museum

The finest of Perast's surviving baroque palaces, built in 1694 for a family of wealthy sea captains, now serves as the town museum. The collection covers the maritime history of Perast, including navigational instruments, ship models, weapons, coins, and portraits of the families who made the town prosperous. It also documents the naval school that Peter the Great of Russia sent young nobles to study at in the early 18th century — a reminder that this tiny town once had an outsized reputation across the Adriatic and beyond.

The palace stands on the main waterfront, easy to find. Opening hours are limited, especially off-season — check locally before making it a centrepiece of your visit, but it's worth the admission if it's open.
