The old village centre on the Amsterdamseweg has the highest concentration of restaurants — French bistros, an Argentinian grill, an Italian or two, and several decent cafés along the canal. The Stadshart food hall offers a faster alternative, with a notable cluster of Japanese restaurants reflecting the large Japanese expat community: ramen at Yoichi, sushi at Yamazato, and a couple of izakaya tucked into side streets.
For a special meal, Aan de Poel on the Bovenkerkerweg holds two Michelin stars and is one of the most highly-regarded restaurants in the Amsterdam region.
