Walcheren Causeway was once the narrow land link between Walcheren and South Beveland, crossing tidal mudflats by dike. In 1944 it became the scene of heavy fighting during the Allied campaign to open access to Antwerp.
The site is modest on the ground, but worthwhile for travellers following Second World War history in Zeeland. It makes the most sense with Middelburg, Vlissingen, and other Walcheren stops.
