Naarden is about 25 kilometres east of Amsterdam. By train, take a direct service from Amsterdam Centraal to Naarden-Bussum station (around 25 minutes); the fortress is a 15-minute walk or short bus ride from there. By car, it is just off the A1 motorway; parking is available outside the walls.
From Amsterdam, Naarden makes an easy half-day trip.
