Getting Around

Tilburg is very bikeable — flat, with good cycle lanes, and the main sights are spread enough that a bike makes more sense than a bus. You can rent bikes from the station area. The city centre itself is compact enough to walk, but a bike opens up the Piushaven, the TextielMuseum, and the routes toward Koningshoeven Abbey to the east.

Buses cover the outer neighbourhoods and are useful for reaching the Loonse en Drunense Duinen on the northern edge of the city. The bus network is run by Hermes and integrated with the national OV-chipkaart system.

The train station is central and has direct connections to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Breda, and Den Bosch. For day trips within the region, the train or bike are the most practical options.
