The sea bird colony at Bleiksøya — a small island just off the village of Bleik on Andøya, about 85 km north of Stokmarknes — is one of the most accessible in northern Norway. The colony hosts hundreds of thousands of Atlantic puffins along with razorbills, guillemots, and northern gannets during the summer nesting season, typically running from late May through early August.
Boat trips from Bleik take only a few minutes and bring you close to the steep nesting cliffs without disturbing the birds. Sea eagles are regularly spotted throughout the Vesterålen archipelago, particularly around fish-landing sites and the calmer inlets. The relative lack of tourist infrastructure here means you will often have viewpoints and walking paths to yourself — something Lofoten visitors rarely experience.
