Drammen is extremely well connected to Oslo by train. The journey takes around forty minutes from Oslo Central Station on the Vestfold Line, and trains run frequently throughout the day from early morning to late evening. This makes Drammen an easy day trip or a viable base for exploring the Drammensfjord area.
By car, Drammen is about fifty kilometres southwest of Oslo on the E18. The city has good parking near the centre, though Norwegian parking prices are high. Long-distance buses from Oslo and other Norwegian cities also stop here; the bus terminal is adjacent to the railway station. The nearest airport is Oslo Gardermoen, about seventy kilometres away, with a rail connection via Oslo centre.
