Flåm Church

Small 17th-century wooden church in the old Flåm valley, away from the cruise pier bustle.

Flåm Church stands in the older valley settlement, a short distance from the busier waterfront and railway terminus. The small wooden church dates from the 17th century and gives a gentler, more local scale to a place often experienced through cruise ships and scenic transport.

It is worth adding to a walk or bike ride up the valley. The building is modest, but the setting between farms, river, and steep mountains makes it one of the better ways to slow Flåm down.
