Keipen is one of the most rewarding short hikes around Harstad, starting from the Aunfjellet area and rising quickly into open terrain. The walking is not long by northern Norwegian standards, but the view feels generous: fjord water, low islands, and mountains layered across the horizon.
Go in clear weather and bring windproof layers even if town feels mild. The route is straightforward in summer, while snow and ice turn the same hillside into a different proposition.
