Lillesand sits on the E18 east of Kristiansand. Buses connect the two in roughly half an hour, making Lillesand one of the easiest coastal day trips from the city.
Drivers can continue east towards Grimstad and Arendal or west back to Kristiansand. In summer, boat excursions and private boats are the most atmospheric way to understand the coast, especially through Blindleia.
