Lillesand is one of the prettiest small towns on Norway's South Coast, a white-painted harbour of wooden houses, boats, skerries, and summer light. It sits east of Kristiansand, close enough for a day trip but calm enough to feel like a different rhythm.
The town centre is small and easy: wander the harbour, look into the Lillesand Town and Maritime Museum, and leave time for the coast. The real landscape is the sheltered waterway of Blindleia, where islands, narrow sounds, and old summer houses make the Sørlandet ideal feel very real.
Lillesand is at its best in warm weather, when boats are moving and the terraces fill. Outside summer it is quieter and more local, still attractive, but with fewer reasons to linger unless you enjoy empty coastal towns.
