Bielsko-Biała Castle Museum

Medieval castle rebuilt in Renaissance style, housing art and city history

The city's main museum occupies a castle that started as a medieval stronghold and was rebuilt into its current form during the Renaissance. The permanent exhibition on the first floor moves through a hunter's room and armoury in the west wing, three centuries of art (15th to 17th century) in the central galleries, a rococo concert hall, and a Biedermeier room. The east wing holds 19th and 20th century painting, while the north wing covers the history of the city and the castle itself, along with the craftsman traditions of old Bielsko and Biała. It is a solid regional museum that gives you a good sense of the city's long history.
