Boleslawiec is well connected by train: direct services run from Wroclaw (about 1.5 hours) and from Dresden and Görlitz in Germany across the border. The station is a short walk from the old town.
By car, Boleslawiec is close to the A4 motorway that runs along the southern edge of Poland, making it an easy stop when crossing between Germany and Poland. The Czech and German borders are both within about 40 kilometres.
