Shopping for pottery is the main reason most people visit Boleslawiec. The town has dozens of factory showrooms and retail shops, most within walking distance of the centre. Prices here are significantly lower than buying Boleslawiec ware elsewhere, and the selection is unmatched. Look for shops with the "Bolesławiecka ceramika" quality mark on the window.
The annual Ceramics Festival in late August turns the town into a temporary outdoor market, with producers from across the region and beyond selling work in the main square. If you are passing through at that time, it is worth timing your visit around it.
