The Cathedral Basilica of the Holy Family on Krakowska Street is a large neo-Gothic church completed in 1927, built at a time when Częstochowa's diocese was newly established and wanted an architectural statement to match its status. The interior is spacious, cool, and relatively uncluttered — a contrast to the baroque intensity of Jasna Góra. The stained glass is the best feature.
It sits about fifteen minutes' walk from Jasna Góra toward the city centre and is easy to combine with the main avenue. If you have time after the monastery, the cathedral is worth a brief visit for the change of scale and atmosphere — the same religious tradition expressed in a completely different architectural language.
