Łódź is a large city but the main visitor areas are fairly well connected. Trams are the backbone of public transport — the city has an extensive tram network and it is the easiest way to cover the city's considerable distances. Tickets are bought from machines at stops or on board.
Piotrkowska Street is pedestrianised for most of its length, and most of the museums and major sights are within walking distance of it. The Jewish Cemetery and Radogoszcz prison are further north and more comfortably reached by tram or taxi. City bikes (Łódź Bike) are available for short hops.
