Rynek Glowny is Oswiecim's main market square, where much of the town's civic life and older architecture is clustered. Several buildings were rebuilt after 19th-century fires, giving the square a fairly unified historic look.
It is a useful starting point for seeing the town beyond the Auschwitz memorial, with cafes, services, and nearby Jewish heritage sites within an easy walk.
