Wieliczka is easy to reach from Kraków, just 14 kilometres away, and most visitors arrive as a day trip.
By train: Direct trains run from Kraków Główny (main station) to Wieliczka Rynek-Kopalnia, the stop closest to the mine. The journey takes about 25 minutes and costs around 2.50 zł with a standard zone ticket (bilet strefowy), valid for two hours. Trains run frequently throughout the day. By minibus: Minibuses (busy) run regularly from the stop near Kraków's main train station and drop you directly at the mine entrance — often faster and more convenient than the train.
By organised tour: Many tour operators in Kraków offer half-day guided tours to the mine, which include transport and a guide inside.
