A Sagres Restaurant

A reliable fish restaurant in Sagres village, popular with Portuguese visitors and local surf crowd alike. The menu is short and largely determined by what the boats brought in that day. Grilled sea bass, bream, and local squid are the constants. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable for the Algarve.

Arrive at 7:30pm to get a table without waiting; later in summer the queue can be substantial. Wine list is simple but the house white (usually a Vinho Verde or Alentejano) is perfectly matched to the food.

A story
The grilled fish here is cooked over charcoal and served with nothing more complicated than potatoes, salad, and good olive oil. That's all it needs. Order the catch of the day, whatever it is.
