Sagres is a place for walking, watching the sea, and thinking about geography. The two headlands — Sagres Point and Cabo de São Vicente — are the main draws, and both reward time. The surf beaches around the cape attract experienced surfers. Between the fortress, the lighthouse, the fort at Beliche, and a few excellent beaches, a full day disappears easily.
